Oh the endless possibilities!

I did a little light shopping during a level 2 snow storm haha :) But I couldn't help myself, Joanns was calling my name!

Not only did I buy myself yarn, but I picked up a sock loom, along with some new crochet hooks and DPN's, and a few other little things.

Now I need to decide what I'll be making :) But first finishing a baby blanket before I move on to more fun projects!

I hope whoever received those homemade gifts you made this holiday season really enjoyed them as much as my family enjoyed theirs :) Its not about how many gifts one receives or how much you spend on someone, its the though that counts :)

I received knew toys so I can continue my knitting, crocheting and looming creations. I have some major goals for myself this next year I will share come the first of the year. I'm still in the process of jotting them down.

Not only did I receive my nice new Martha Stewart knit and weave loom kit, I've got a yarn shopping date at JoAnn's and I may do that tomorrow :)

Project Linus

Project Linus is a national non-profit that collects and distributes new handmade blankets to children in need. Their challenge is for everyone to find their nearest Project Linus Chapter and donate at least one blanket.

I wanted to let you know that nationally Project Linus is already in the works for organizing the sending of handmade blankets to those affected by the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary school, CT. If you can, donate to a Project Linus Chapter close to you.

Thoughts and Prayers...

My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victums of the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut this morning. May those little one's who have lost their lives this morning Rest In Peace. <3

Can't have enough Scarfs!

There is a couples rules in my mind, women can never have enough shoes, jewelry, clothes and most importantly, Scarves!

Well some men like scarves to ;)

So here are a few that I made up myself and my own pattern.

This one was made with Homespun - Pearl Yarn.

 For the life of me I can not remember the color of this yarn or the brand, I'll search my yarn collection for the label, and let you all know. But it is a nice warm scarf for the lovely Ohio winters we get hit with every year.


*Pattern*
I used a size L crochet hook for the both of these.

Ch. 144(or however long or short you want it)
Single Crochet in the second chain from hook and all across the chain, ch 2 and turn.
Repeat until desired width. I crochet  8 rows to make it 6 inches across, perfect width :)


See, easy does it :) This makes a great Christmas gift! Enjoy!

Toddler hoodie!

I don't think I've ever been so happy to force myself to work on a harder project! Although my hands hurt worse than an old lady with arthritis, believe it or not this only took me 4 days to complete with minor complications. 

The only complicated part was the hood believe it or not!

So without further due, 

This size I made fits a 24 month old. This one I made for my 21 month old nephew for Christmas. But the pattern goes down to 12 months. 

Obviously you can tweak it to make it smaller or larger, depending on the little one's size. For this one in particular, I followed the pattern for the sleeves, but they turned out to reach all the way down to Shayne's knees HAHA! 

So a tip for everyone who wants to make this easy toddler hoodie, do what I did, take one of the toddlers actually shirts, and keep it for reference for the measurements. Comes in handy :)

They may be to young to fully understand just what they are getting! But this makes a great gift to get them through those cold months :) Enjoy!

Yay for Socks!

These are Christmas present for my mom, and my mother-in-law. The bind off is a little eh, because I'm still trying to master the invisible bind off method. But overall these look amazing!

These were knitted toe-down, and oh my they were supper easy! These were my first attempts making socks, and they are so warm :)

Hey there...

Hey! Welcome to my blog. My name is Taylor and here I will be posting about my knitting, crocheting, and looming work, my life and basically anything that I feel like sharing at that moment. 

My main purpose is to attract others who like to knit, crochet, and loom for either fun, charity or for side income. I love to make baby items, and I plan to donate a bunch of items to the local hospitals here in Columbus, Ohio, especially the children's hospital. They take care of a lot of babies and small children and most of these families have nothing. I would like to supply them with blankets, hats and even warm socks. 

Now I have not been doing this a long time. Roughly 5 years now. And while I love creating things sometimes I get a little burned out making items and I have neglected myself this past year due to school. This year I have decided do more things that I enjoy doing. So I will be sharing my adventures in knitting, crocheting and looming.

Well that seems like a good start, I'll be back with more shortly and pictures and patterns to come. Even some of my photography that I just recently graduated college with!
